End of the World.

Welcome to Shibuya, or rather its ruins. The buildings and monuments that were once loved by its people are now crumbling and grown over with plant life - apparently abandoned for many years. There is no human life to be found at all, and no Noise, for they do not exist without others to prey on - instead, the atmosphere is thick with dormant Soul, that could be described as a deafening Silence.

All stores still have a Reaper Decal, and any items found are free for the looting. (Pins are fair game. Quest items, however, cannot be found, and most food is rotten. The only edibles that survived were the french fries, cheap coffee, medicine, and the Curious Mushrooms which seem to have propagated somehow.) There doesn't seem to be a designated shelter this time.

Several hours after everyone arrives, their phones will receive a text saying that there is no Game this week:

Players will have their entry fees returned - although Zecora's isn't entirely in tact, since unfortunately the Conductor can't give Sasuke back. She will instead receive a certain newspaper clipping that might bring her hope.

Another effect of the game on hold, Reapers are technically not confined by any rules, including the one that says they can only use Noise. They can attack or aid Players to their heart's desire.

Now, with that out of the way, I'd like to make an announcement about the direction of the game. More specifically, I'd like to start taking it in an endgame direction. I feel that with how much the playerbase has dwindled and our total lack of new blood for several months, it's unrealistic to assume that it will be able to continue indefinitely.

And so, I've decided to handle this by opening a discussion. What kind of ending would we like to have? I'd like to hear thoughts on this for both the game as a whole and for individual characters, as I would much prefer to plan the ending around the PC characters rather than railroad it with the NPCs.

You can also consider the NPC App I wrote earlier to be null and void, as it was created with a longer game in mind. Anyone who wants to ascend should just say so as part of "what we'd like in the game" and I'll see what can be done.

Well, as for endgame, all I can really say is that I have two characters who are both gunning for the top: Zecora, out of righteous anger, and Mewtwo, out of a lust for power.

If the former wins, she will remake the game to an ideal. If the latter wins, he will unmake the Game, and then the world.

Mewtwo really needs someone to shock through to him the idea that he doesn't have to annihilate humanity to have a place in the world... and Zecora, I'd love if it she at least had a shot at the top, even were she not to succeed. :D

Would Naomi getting erased work into your plans? I hadn't really intended for her to survive, but now that she's partners with Zecora I'm willing to let her live if she's needed. Let me know what would be best for you!

It would work! Zecora can't save everyone, after all. In the end, maybe she can't save anyone.

I still have Django and Kreutzer fighting their way through the game! And hopefully, both will make it to the end.

Django I have no set plans for: He's going solo, but will definitely come to the aid of other players and even reapers, if needed. His top priority is shutting the game down so no one else has to die.

Kreutzer is in a similar boat, but pretty much went renegade after week 4 and is partnered with the Flutters. I'm curious if the higher-ups have noticed her numbers being the weakest of all the reapers and wonder if that's something that can be toyed with because I am infinitely evil to Kreutz.

All Asakura's fighting for is chaos and more fighting. I don't mind having him go out in a blaze of glory/blaze of "well, I'm so angry I'm going to do something that'll probably end poorly." I wouldn't mind him getting a Cantus form, just because I could grab the non-canonical Ouja Survive and he'd be all "LOOKIT ME IN MAH FINAL BOSS FORM" and make his defeat all the sweeter. (And then I just realized that it said Reapers can attack people directly so...have fun with that, everyone.)

As far as the Professor goes, he's still trying to go out there and do his superhero thing. Now that he remembers everything again, he's not altogether unconvinced there's no White Lantern crap going on somewhere. 8D I...haven't done a whole lot with him lately so I'm pretty much open to anything, heh.

I am more than happy to have Neku be whatever plot device he needs to. XD He's been trying very hard to keep himself low profile (and kind of failing, obviously), but he hasn't been using his most powerful pins/all the stops very much, so that could be a fun thing to play with people not knowing. Also hella high Imagination and stuff.

While he would obviously really like to get back to Shibuya, the possibility of not doing so in order to get everyone else back home has crossed his mind (and not been told to Joshua), so... take that as you will~

Echoing Bookie, if you can use Joshua as a plot device, go for it! I'm more than happy to do whatever. Obviously there's a lot about him that no one else except Neku really knows, and I don't know if you want to do something with that or not. :|a And I wouldn't be too adverse to him getting a cantus form, but at the same time he's a little more powerful here than normal, so... xD;

Fluttershy and Fluttercruel don't really have any goals except for two. First off, they really want to go back to Equestria. Their second goal is confronting whoever sent the Taboo noise and dealing with them.

Those two would be very appropriate for dealing with Mewtwo, especially with Kreutzer in tow.

For many reasons I don't think Naomi should survive, so she is fair game for endgame erasure. I would be happy to thread this out if anyone wants credit for her demise.

As for my other characters, they're both RGers, so here are my thoughts for them:

Rin is going to want to go back to Vocaloids!Earth, so she would benefit most from an ending where people get to go home.

Madame Foster would also want to go back home to see Mr. Herriman and run the foster home. She'd basically treat it as the end of her so called vacation and nothing would change 8D

Alternatively, one or both of them could die for a final charge in the UG. (Depends on if we want Madame Foster's imagination suddenly being used for OUTRAGEOUS BADASSERY. If I went with that, she'd probably be a Reaper and stick around in the event of some parts of the UG staying together.)
