It's Day 3 and that means Activity Check is up! Yes, these still exist, but the mods-do-everything method is no longer working out, so we've decided to change the format to a roll call. From now on, everyone who wishes to remain in the game need only post to the AC posts saying so!

In addition, we've rolled out several things that everyone has been waiting for, namely:

An update to the NPCs page featuring the mythical NPC app! Which includes the app for canon TWEWY characters and the app for Reapers to become promoted to Officer.

An update to the Pin Trader featuring a new trade for the stronger pins that have been available as rewards over the past weeks. But where did the Scarletite go? That's a surprise for another day!

And finally, as Sword has stepped down as an administrative mod and become a plot helper instead, I'm putting out a call for another mod. Anyone interested in the position should contact Des through the usual channels. And that's all, folks!

As a reminder, a Duet week is a week in which a Pact is necessary to fight Noise. Pins will not be usable alone, and the Noise now exist in two planes, and when they attack, it will be necessary to defeat them in both. The result is that those without pacts will be erased if they are encountered by Noise and cannot run.

Those who do have a pact will be separated onto the two planes once the battle starts. They will not be able to see their partner, but they will be able to hear their voice and pass a light puck between each other. Once the Noise is erased, they'll return to the UG.

Des-mod here! I bet you all thought we forgot to do AC, huh? Well - maybe. But I come with changes to the system that I think will be popular: We've decided to lift AC requirements for RG characters henceforth!

There are many reasons for this, one of which being that the way everyone plays here, the plot is very focused on the Reaper's Game, and it's been tougher than we originally imagined to foster an active RG alongside that. So we thought this would be a fair compromise to anyone who wanted to play an RGer, as well as broaden the appeal of the role. The selling point of the RG was always that it had more freedom than other roles; this seemed like the next logical step. Think of it as a DR within a game, if you will.

As for our Reapers and Players that we haven't seen much of, there's only one:

Hey, everyone! Sword here. Part of the reason I've been mostly silent this week is Paper Mario Sticker Star I've been working slowly but surely on both ironing out next in-game Week and also on sprucing up the comms a bit. However, I've reached a point that I kind of have issues with - site styles.

Now, I'm not expecting custom styles or anything (Because gah, CSS is a headache I can't even LOOK at) but does anyone have any preferences on how the comms should look? Light scheme, dark scheme, "it doesn't matter cuz I just use my reading page anyway"? I'm just looking for general input here, to try to steer me in a mindset right for prettifying the game a bit in order to draw more folks in.

Also, I've adjusted the membership list for drops, so if you're still in the game and you lost membership, let us know - I don't think I clicked any wrong buttons but mistakes happen. Especially at 1 AM at night.

EDIT: Also, I've added new tags to our OOC comm! The !activity check tag should be self-obvious, but we also have a !new week info tag you can stalk if you want to know when we tell you about what crazy place we've shoved you this week!

Hello, hello! Des mod here with some important announcements!

First of all, Day 3's Activity Check is being postponed to Day 4! This is because of 1) how close it is to the last AC because of the extension and 2) It's just more convenient to catch up next week since it'll be Thanksgiving and such. So, everyone breathe easy for now! (Alternatively, tag like crazy!!)

Second, we're introducing a new page that can be used at any time... Position Changes! This is for use any time your character switches up their role in the game, so that we can keep track of it by a better means than word-of-mouth, and also so that it can be done at any time!

Having said that, we noticed that we currently have about twice as many Reapers as we do Players in this game, making it a bit unbalanced. So! We're asking if anyone would be willing to switch their character from Reaper to Player? We're not sure what kind of incentives we could provide, but we'd only need a couple to get it balanced again. We realize it's a longshot, though, so nobody should feel obligated to switch. It's cool even if no one wants to, but we thought we'd ask anyway! In any case, we'd appreciate it if you'd read the page to see what it's about. Thanks!

Before I go, though, an announcement: Kiku-mod has dropped, so I'm in the market for a new co-mod. Ideally, a co-mod would be willing to do a share of any of the work that I do, such as managing the reserves page and accepting apps, and would be creative enough to help GM and make up missions from time to time. And of course, to help me make modly decisions to make the game better. Any coding ability would also be a plus. Interested parties, please contact me either on this journal or any other of my listed Des-contact means.

A lot of stuff to cover today, so I'll try to make it quick!

#1: Oh damn! Your actions have consequences! Since no one decided to step up to make day 4's mission difficult, the higher ups are furious! So any Reaper who hasn't been doing their share of harrying is now obligated to do so. They have been sent boss level pins and a warning to attack players at the risk of erasure or losing their reaper status. Reapers are free to erase NPC players or attack PC ones, but either way, you'd better get to work.

#2: If anyone does want to switch their character from Reaper to Player, now would be a good time to do it! Comment below if you intend to switch. However, this choice cannot be taken back. Once someone's out of the Reapers, they don't let them back in, so be careful.

#3: BOSS NOISE! As mentioned, the noise the reapers are now obligated to send are going to be pretty strong!! Because the game is still on solo plane, a formal pact will not be necessary, but they will still require a group to defeat. Go band together, Players!

#4: Fashion System! This mission's wall requirement will be a bit of dress-up. That is because we are introducing a sort of crude version of the Fashion system. Now, originally we tried to make one that more closely imitated the canon - this ended up being way too convoluted to conceivably incorporate into RP. We still want everyone to have an IC excuse to run around in fancy/silly outfits for the fun of it. Therefore, the fashion system will be entirely based on clothes and imitating the fashions of the area. If you pay attention to the trends and match them with your clothes, that's enough to give your pins a boost. For simplicity's sake, it won't matter what brand your pins are - the only way to get this boost is to dress up. Wearing a pin can still make the pin popular, though.

They're open! But along with that, we have a special announcement - they're staying open, because we are throwing out the app cycle system for now!

The system was originally coined so that everyone would always arrive on Day 1 of each week. However, in light of the fact that we decided to allow RGers to die and enter the Reaper's game in the middle, it seemed silly to deny new applicants that choice as well, especially since an IC week is pretty long OOC and this will just be better for the growth of the game.

With a new app system comes a new reserve system, and so now the expiration date for reserves will be a week after the reserve was made. All current reserves will expire a week from today on October 13.

What up, everyone! It's Day 3! Normally that would mean it's AC time, but don't worry about that, because I already checked and everyone's clear (and besides we're too new for an AC this early anyway.) But just so everyone is prepared, the next AC is on Day 7! A new day starts each week on a Monday.

Secondly, Day 3's mission requires RG participation, namely in the form of flailing around at a camera. But whoever in the RG wins it gets HELLA BANK, so anyone with money problems should have at it!

As for Players, they will be able to Imprint with their player pins to steer them in the direction of the place. No specific memes in this game, but any word or short phrase can work. Additionally, they will probably have to fight noise for money and throw it at whoever they've got playing the game so they don't run out of lives. In other words this mission will require a lot of cooperation....

And finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask how I'm doing so far! Is the game fun? Anything I can improve or you'd like to see more of? Tell me here, or the suggestions page is always open! Thank you!

Okay, the mission's about to go up, so let me explain the format:

Mission: This is fairly obvious; it's the meat of the text that Players will receive, giving the clue that will lead to the true mission objective. (We will not be writing in the IC time limits and the assurance that failure leads to erasure, but assume they all come with that message unless otherwise stated.)

Time Limit: IC-wise, Players will receive a specific time limit, which will appear on their bodies (on humanoids it would be their hand, but non-humanoids can choose a place that'd be more easy to see.) However, as it would be a hassle to try to calculate the time it would reasonably take to get around and do things, here we will simply categorize it as Very Short, Short, Medium, Long, or Very Long. Where Very Short would be, say, under 10 minutes, and Very Long could be several hours. This is just to give you an idea of how much pressure your characters should feel while doing the mission.

Noise Plane: Comes in two categories, "Solo" and "Duet." If it is "Solo", Noise inhabit only one Plane. They can be erased by an individual working alone, and Partners will fight together on the same plane. If it is "Duet", Noise exist between planes, and a Partner will be required to erase them. Partners will be on separate planes and will be able to hear, but not see each other. In other words, "Duet" is like the DS version.

Wall Instructions: Describes assigned places where walls should be set up. A Reaper can then reply to the post with one of those places in their subject titles. A "Key Wall" is a Wall that's blocking necessary areas for the mission. They will sometimes have specific objectives rather than just letting the Reaper choose it for themselves. "Sealing off" means that the wall is meant to be impassable, so the players don't get too lost.

Wall Rewards: The player(s) that clear a wall receive pins, typically support or healing types, as well as money or items.

Reaped Rewards: If a Player defeats a Reaper's noise, they receive a pin, typically an offense pin. (This does not stack if it was a wall objective.)

Mission Rewards: All players that survive a mission receive these rewards.
